Timeless Open Living Area

Before Photos

These clients came to me for a complete transformation of their living room and dining room. A fabulous new L shaped sofa had been purchased but they struggled to visualise what to do next.

When the old sofas were moved into the dining room to make space for new, this family found that they really enjoyed having two separate comfy living spaces so we have found a way to incorporate a new sofa and a larger dining table in the dining room.

Concept

The concept for this project was a mixture of contemporary pattern. timeless colours and natural textures for a cosy, homely atmosphere. The interiors will flow into each other whilst both having different designated zones- framed using contemporary rugs.

Contemporary furnishings with natural wood are included for that timeless finish. Eclectic, luxury velvets and gold touches all play a part in the design. Luxury elements add class without being overstated as they’re blended with slightly more rustic elements such as the wooden features and rust coloured cushions.

Overall, the walls are kept a cosy, neutral colour with a contemporary feature wallpaper, walking through to the dining area a slightly darker colour creates a relaxing ‘snug’ atmosphere where perhaps the room will be used more for dining in evenings and watching TV.

Plenty of lamps are included to create an evening relaxing ambience.

The original shelving unit has been resituated in the design, shown in an off-black, contemporary colour- matching new furnishings. Stylish storage units sit below the TV in the living room for Grandchildren’s toys, books, TV accessories and more

Finished Interiors

Dining Area

The entire space has been transformed into a tranquil, contemporary haven. The interiors will flow into each other whilst both having different designated zones and atmospheres. The dining area as more of a ‘snug’ and evening dining space and the living area as a light and airy family living space.

Fitted, contemporary units now provide loads of storage as well as being a shelving space for lamps and accessories below the TV. Mirrors create an illusion of a wider living space and reflect around natural light.

Sentimental items have also been reinstated in here such as the clients existing dark wood shelving unit and cuckoo clock. It’s so important to keep things that mean something to you or tell a story.
