Art and design have been my passion from a young age; When I was asked what I wanted to be I would always reply ‘a sticker and gluer!’
My love for Interiors started through the constant urge to rearrange my bedroom furniture and redecorate my room. It was also inspired by my obsession with dolls houses as a child; with the help of my Grandad (who was also an Interior Designer and Architect) I built, decorated and furnished my own Georgian dolls house at the age of 9. It’s still my pride and joy today..
Through school art and design were my focus and I achieved A levels for these subjects.
I’ve since completed my degree and have graduated with a First Class BA(hons) in Interior Design with a focus on period properties. Although I have studied many areas of interior design I have a particular interest in designing period properties in a way that contemporises them without taking away their history and character. I’ve grown up in a Grade II listed Georgian home which has taught me so much about respecting these properties history and working with their period features whilst making them suit our 21st century lifestyles.
I also love designing hospitality spaces and hope to work in this area in the future as well as residential design. I’ve studied accessibility regulations, and how to make a space work practically for businesses such as restaurants and hotels. I have knowledge in how to research and create a brand identity that catches the eyes of the proposed target market. I like brand identities to work cohesively with a design scheme.
My aim is to design spaces tailored to my clients, where comfort and personalisation come first. Creating character and atmosphere specific to the purpose of the interior.
My personal style is constantly evolving with a current love for biophilia, maximalism and bold colour schemes. I will forever be obsessed with all things velvet and gold chrome- but not to worry I will hold back from forcing these elements into your design if I must!
Outside of Interior Design I’m a huge animal lover with three dogs and a horse, I’m addicted to shopping and spend way too much money on discounted designer clothing (especially Ted Baker where I worked part time as a sales assistant for three years), and finally I absolutely love travelling and sourcing inspiration from places I’ve visited.
